A troupe of Bend Pops Orchestra musicians gave a musical presentation to an enthusiastic group of elementary school students Thursday, March 14 at Vern Patrick Elementary School in Redmond, Or.  Eight musicians presented a program of music and musical education to the entire student body of over 300 young people.

Our musicians represented all families of orchestral instruments: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.  We played an introductory piece to set the mood, then each musician spoke to the students to explain the instrument they play, how it works, its role in the orchestra and music, and then demonstrated playing the instrument.  We played a final piece, and then had a question and answer period.  Our percussionist even brought some items that students could try out and play along with.

Students were very interested and the program was well received.   If you are interested in having Bend Pops Orchestra musicians come to your school, please contact us.
