Bend Pops Orchestra holds its Fall & Holiday concert on December 15. Join us for an afternoon of great music!
We will present some of the season’s favorites, such as The Polar Express with When Christmas Comes to Town, Hot Chocolate, Believe and Spirit of the Season; Joyful Holidays with Joy to the World, Deck the Hall, Chanukah, and Silent Night, arranged by Jack Bullock; Leroy Anderson’s iconic holiday tune, Sleigh Ride; and those lovable Peanuts characters in Charlie Brown Christmas! Also included are Ancient Echoes of Time, painting an imaginative musical landscape with harmonies and soaring tunes; four of Duke Ellington’s best in a brilliant arrangement by Calvin Custer; the slow and mysterious unfolding of Beethoven’s masterpiece, the Second Movement of Symphony No.7; and Gravitas, a powerful work celebrating strength, beauty, and life’s journey by the internationally acclaimed contemporary composer/director, Soon Hee Newbold.
In addition to two small ensembles, Bells of Sunriver will make a special guest appearance with Cold December Flies Away and Symphonia on Hyfrydol on bell trees to literally Ring in the Holidays!
Great music for the whole family, with home-baked treats at intermission!
