Hamilton Cast Recordings

I thought it would be helpful to make available the original Hamilton numbers in our medley.  The syncopation based on vocal lines can be hard to follow, so helps to hear the originals.  I put the MP3s on Google Drive here.  Also, here is the YouTube video for our Brubaker arrangement.  About the tunes themselves:

You’ll Be Back:  King George chastises the colonies for wanting independence, saying he’s been good to them and they’ll be sorry when he’s gone — sung tongue-in-cheek in the style of a rock “break-up” ballad.

Helpless:  Elizabeth Schuyler meets Alexander Hamilton at a ball and falls helplessly in love, marrying him soon after.

My Shot: Hamilton introduces himself to fellow revolutionaries Hercules Mulligan, John Laurens, and the Marquis de Lafayette, and they all envision their victory in the fight for rights and independence.

Dear Theodosia:  Burr and Hamilton sing a lovely ballad to their newborn children Theodosia (Burr) and Philip (Hamilton), promising a better world to pass on to them.

It’s Quiet Uptown:  (many years later…)  After Eliza and Alexander Hamilton lose Philip, fatally shot in a duel at age 19, they move uptown and go through the “unimaginable” grieving and reconciliation process.

One Last Time:  Washington entreats Hamilton to author Washington’s address on politics before he resigns as president.
